EY GDS Pune hiring ?
I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

I’m no longer at FCB but, Dana Maiman is really a genuinely good leader and that definitely reflects throughout FCB.
I’m happy at FCB Health! It’s very much team based (as with any agency), so of course ensure there’s a good fit in that regard. Otherwise it’s a cool place
@creative director: I've worked for numerous FCB agencies and liked them for the most part. Dana Maiman is a rockstar and I LOVE working under her. NeON is a pretty quiet, low key agency. I'd avoid Area 23, it's very bro-culture.
I just left after being there for a very long time. Overall it's a great shop. They do solid work, generally treat employees well (though your experience will vary by team) and value good creative work. It's also very political and hierarchical, much like most other big agencies. That may or may not impact your day to day, it depends on your level.
Neon is fine, they have some nice people and are beefing up creative talent, though they've been pretty flat from a growth perspective for a long time.
All in all, I would recommend working there. PM if you want more specific details.
Check out Area 23’s work
Yeah I have - some nice stuff - but heard only few get to work on those - what do the other hundreds of people work on?
I think Rich is a great boss. If you have your shit together as a CD-awesome. If you’re FOS he will figure you out. Those creatives don’t stick around. Neon, I have not heard of anyone leaving. It seems like a great shop in the network w a lot of potential.
I was at Area23 for a long time. I don't think it's really bro culture either - but I will say that the creative department skews very male at the CD and higher level.
FCB Health is fine. Large agency where you can kind of phone it in.
Neon is terrible. Barely qualifies as an ad agency. They’ve been around 10 years and haven’t made one great thing, period.
Area 23 is a trade off. You will work nights and weekends, but your portfolio will look great after a year. As a woman, I’d say it’s def not a bro culture. But there are not enough female leaders in creative. They are trying hard to address that though and they are aware
It’s terrible.
@fcb3 My general friends have headed over there in pursuit of getting to do more creative now that awards are opening up to health more...is it that creative? I’ve never seen incredibly creative pharma work. Maybe on occasion but .... (tried to chat you it didn’t work, I’ll try a pigeon)
Your assessment is right. There is some good work coming out right now and some award winning stuff, but honestly most of it is gimmicky award show bait. A lot of the day to day stuff can be really mundane - but there has been a push to elevate the quality of the work that clients pay for. If you're coming from W+K or a shop like that you might find that it's a bit of a let down, but pharma in general is improving and a lot of the best pharma work is coming out of the FCB network (mainly Area23 and FCB Health).
@fcb4 I have heard very good things about Dana and I’ve seen her speak - she seems incredible. I’ve heard the same about area 23 and I am in a bro culture now and I want to avoid that. Have you worked with rich levy at all? What’s he like?
@FCB5 I know a few folks at Neon that said a bunch of ppl who left ...
@Area23 how did you get it to say Area 23? Mine keeps verifying as FCB
@Manager1 why? Being told I’ll get just as many creative opportunities as general and uh...
Uhh Bro culture? I am at Area23 and a woman. I don’t feel that we are like that all. There is a reason FCB Health won 2018 Cannes Lions Health Network of the Year.
People who left... were bros? I’ve been there for a year and very happy.
Very helpful thanks. Curious: Why do you think nothing has changed in 10 years @ Neon? Are they aware? Do they care? Cash cow?
OP I’ve already said too much.
