Do we get any diwali gift??
I have been working in the construction industry for 2 years under a general contractor. I am wanting to get into consulting and my ideal role would be something like an Associate in Major Projects Advisory with KPMG. I’m curious to know which firms/companies have positions and departments like the one mentioned that I could apply for?

Always on the first call when the recruiter reaches out. They give me a range. Explain the pay structure - salary, bonus and rsu. Then I’m clear about my expectations or if my ask is out of their range.
If they can’t afford me, i just walk away.
If they don't offer a range, I usually bring it up pretty early. For starters, their not being forthcoming with that information is a red flag to begin with. But like you said, I'd rather have an awkward moment in the initial stages and save us weeks when I find out that they aren't willing to pay what I need.
I try to only apply to jobs with pay listed. However there are still so many jobs posted without pay if you apply to one bring it up during the 1st phone call why bother to interview if they can't give you what you're looking for.
I think you should bring up pay during the first interview if the hiring manager doesn’t bring it up. The only reason a hiring manager would be upset that you asked about pay is when they were trying to lowball you.
I am usually hesitant applying for roles that don't have a salary range listed on the job description. And some states have laws on the books that require a salary range to be listed.
If a recruiter reaches out to be about a role, I will ask about the salary range if they don't mention it.

I usually bring up as early as I can if there isn’t a range posted…that way I’m not wasting their time ideally
