Word. “Work life balance there is not. Only work life choices.” - Yoda probably

I feel the need to yoda-ize that a bit more. “Balance between work and life, there is not. Only choices between work and life, there are."

Wife and I just committed to “look at the market” this winter and see what local options there are and really understand the financial trade offs

Same.. have decided to take up whatever good local opportunity comes next..

Preach!!! I tried to get local. Works some times but not always. Sometimes local is a barn burner and you still can’t see your family

I did the daycare drop and pickup today. Worked from 9.30-3.30. Will do the same on Monday, but juggle with my also consulting wife. My directors, partner, and client all understand and work around my family needs. I set expectations early. Take control of your time, demonstrate your value, give the impression that you have options and you can get better balance.

What title for this job description?
I want to switch roles from a creative director who oversees all aspects of the company’s creative (marketing campaigns and brand building mostly; also production, performance marketing ads, product design, managing design team) to focusing 100% on building our brand, educating both customers and employees about our value prop. I hate managing people or logistics and scheduling. What would this role be called? Do you see it as demotion from CD?

I just graduated with my MS in Health Information Management. Any jobs in NYC in this particular field (first time in this field)? Provide links. 🫶🏼

Also what is the starting salary? It would be my first time in this field. 😺

• Bachelors degree in Radiologic Sciences (x-ray tech)
• Master of Science in Health Information Management

Was on a call today with colleagues and they were all commiserating about childcare costs rising, daycares closing unexpectedly, sick kids, and pregnancy pains. I just smirked the whole time and thought “wow that blows… I’ll keep you in my thoughts/prayers while my husband and I are in Costa Rica for a long weekend next week. Byeeeee” ✌🏻 🇨🇷

Hi! I’ve been in CS since 2019 now and I haven’t reached that 6 figure mark yet nor have I found that right team and culture that I’ve been able to tap into to grow in my career. Any recommendations on next move to become more valuable and more marketable for my next career move

I work for a digital marketing agency and was recently promoted to Director due to the resignation of the previous Director. I have 10 YOE and can do the job. I've found that work/life balance is completely thrown off now that I'm in a leadership position. I have to be available all the time and glued to my machine 9-10 hours a day. Is it okay to not want a leadership role after so many years? I know work is just that - work, but I'm dreading the work week now. I'm a mom of 3 littles

Best way to negotiate? Was offered 110 when initial call the range provided was 105-125. No bonus or equity at this role. Don’t have another offer but do know that industry range is between 110-140ish. Number I want is 120k

Religious 🐠: As a dad of a preschooler, I've been trying to share the importance of practicing one's faith with joy and tolerance with my son. It's been hard to get him to sign on. Would love to learn about your experience and what you saw as working and not working.

Non-religious 🐠: you're welcome to the discussion but let's assume that we already know that you think religion sucks.

Little guy spiked a 102° fever tonight. Wife and I have been 100% wfh, kids all homecare and virtual school, taking masks etc very seriously. We do go for groceries, and have 2 similarly cautious families in our bubble. Incredible he could catch anything. Time for tests... and waiting.

My 3.5 year old brandished a small kitchen knife towards his 1.5 yr old sibling. I have never seen this behavior in the past and a bit disturbed. He did not have an answer when I asked why he did it. What can I do to make sure this does not repeat?. I think he picked something on YouTube. Otherwise a very loving kid. Always got positive feedback on his social skills from daycare.

Best potty training solution?
