I feel the need to yoda-ize that a bit more. “Balance between work and life, there is not. Only choices between work and life, there are."

Wife and I just committed to “look at the market” this winter and see what local options there are and really understand the financial trade offs

Same.. have decided to take up whatever good local opportunity comes next..

Preach!!! I tried to get local. Works some times but not always. Sometimes local is a barn burner and you still can’t see your family

I did the daycare drop and pickup today. Worked from 9.30-3.30. Will do the same on Monday, but juggle with my also consulting wife. My directors, partner, and client all understand and work around my family needs. I set expectations early. Take control of your time, demonstrate your value, give the impression that you have options and you can get better balance.

What title for this job description?
I want to switch roles from a creative director who oversees all aspects of the company’s creative (marketing campaigns and brand building mostly; also production, performance marketing ads, product design, managing design team) to focusing 100% on building our brand, educating both customers and employees about our value prop. I hate managing people or logistics and scheduling. What would this role be called? Do you see it as demotion from CD?

I work for a digital marketing agency and was recently promoted to Director due to the resignation of the previous Director. I have 10 YOE and can do the job. I've found that work/life balance is completely thrown off now that I'm in a leadership position. I have to be available all the time and glued to my machine 9-10 hours a day. Is it okay to not want a leadership role after so many years? I know work is just that - work, but I'm dreading the work week now. I'm a mom of 3 littles

My 3.5 year old brandished a small kitchen knife towards his 1.5 yr old sibling. I have never seen this behavior in the past and a bit disturbed. He did not have an answer when I asked why he did it. What can I do to make sure this does not repeat?. I think he picked something on YouTube. Otherwise a very loving kid. Always got positive feedback on his social skills from daycare.
