I recently got a verbal offer from EY FSO for SC position. In email I was asked to provide my desired salary. Per suggestion from this group I gave 140k as my desired salary for Dallas location. I didn’t want to low ball my self and at the same time I think I gave big number than average salary, should I go back and check this with HR if this effect anything in the approval process?

Hello Guys,
I Got one Offer from Fynd but that is too low for me and as per my expereince
They are giving me 9 LPA bcz I quoted that amount when I applied for it long back. at that time I didnt know more about how salary and all calculated and whats the market research
Now after clearing all the rounds when we meet for salary discussion i told him my real desired salary as per experience and market reseach
He told me that I quoted 9 LPA so we can not do more "unless you have any counter offer"

No, no point in negotiating against yourself—wait to see what them come back with

You’re ok, bud. We will simply come back with a lower number if that’s too high. Just wait to get the offer and decide what you’re comfortable with in the meantime so you can negotiate.
You're good buddy, don't worry too much.
Earlier this summer I had an offer from EY FSO for SC (they said they'll bring me in as SC3 whatever that means).
In the very initial call with the recruiter I was given the $100k-$125k range and I confirmed this is just base. After getting the verbal offer I quoted $140k TC in the email.
Recruiter came back with $128k + $5k joining bonus and said this plus bonus next year should get me to $140k.
I ended up not taking the offer for other reasons but if it's only money driving your decision then you should be good. Don't undervalue yourself.
Thank you for the advice.
They won’t take away the offer, they’ll come back to you with a counter offer. At that point it’s up to you to accept or keep on negotiating.

If you’re a SC with 6 yoe and Dallas. 140k is a very good base salary.
That’s nice to know but I recently completed 5 years in industry and my resume says 4+ as I didn’t complete 5 while interviewing.
Wait and see what they say. And there is no big difference between 4+ and 5 on your resume, since you already got the offer.
My friend with 6YOE with Masters was was offered 106k for Dallas in a EY Tech position last month. S2 or S3 - not sure exactly

Are they paying that these days for a senior in FSO?
As per my research no, people in here suggested me to ask 140 so that hr can alteast come back with 115. Just for comparison I have a friend who got 97 in Chicago for staff 2, No sign on bonus.
Did they agree for your ask finally ?
Yes, With sign on bonus it was close to what I asked for.
