Sector is land development and site design I’m assuming ?
Yes
Two pronged approach here. Get a few comparison salaries in your field and position. Lay out all your accomplishments with specifics and how you’ve helped move your project forward. You’ll need to say, I think I deserve $x a year as it’s the industry standard form what my research tells me. Tell them you like your team and think you could really grow at this firm.
At the same time, punch your resume up. I dealt with this same thing about a year ago. I heard crickets from my company. I left for greener pastures, which was a great decision. Many Engineering firms are being run by, or like, private equity firms. This translates so keeping salaries low and making less people do more work. It stinks. Civil engineers are in high demand right now. It’s not worth it to stay with an employer like this. You’ll likely need to move companies every 2-3 years to keep up your salary. If you do it right, by asking for a raise and proving your worth, then leaving when you’re given excuses, you won’t hurt as many feelings. They may even ask you to return eventually. Good luck! Also, look for employee owned engineering firms. They tend to have better cultures.
