Depends on the situation, I cc managers so they can just keep track of things I’m actively taking care of for them
Nothing at work is that deep for me lmao. I cc managers only so they know I’m working, because I am remote. I don’t have tattle tale tendencies but I’m sure other people do
It’s because society today thinks that their managers are always out to get them. It could be that the manager is on copy to protect them. Whenever there’s a problem, my team will copy me for their sake. They’re not required to, but they know that if I’m on copy, it tends to get things done or I can jump in and push back myself so it’s not all on them
Agree. You’re passively escalating
Some things need to be escalated
I want to know what asks are being made of my team, so I can have their backs. Usually this means stepping in and pushing back hard on deadlines.
Isn't just about everything a micro-aggression these days?
This. I don't understand why transparency is considered micro/passive aggression.
If my team is trying to work with your team and your team is not being responsive or engaged (after multiple attempts), then my expectation of my team is to include you as the manager. We are all trying to get things done, and if there are deliverables that my team is reliant on your team to complete, then accountability needs to be held. And vice versa - if my team is not holding up to their deliverables, I want to know (if I don't already) so I can address it quickly and support them to get things back on track.
I think this is better than having to have escalations on both sides (which has also happened) - where the managers have to mitigate the accountability issues like we're parents trying to address a kids' playdate conflict.
I dont think the person on Tik tok knows what a microagression is...
Copying a persons manager on email had nothing to do with a persons race, gender, or sexual orientation.
It might be passive aggressive, but definitely not a microagression.
For reference, microaggressions include treating someone as a second-class citizen because of their gender, race, or sexual orientation.
I'm so confused how people are mixing up "microagression" with being passive aggressive. Do words not mean anything anymore?
Yep
