Unfortunately, Many are getting impacted by today's layoffs across the organisations and it is super hard to cope up mentally and financially. I came across few openings related to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) consultants, experience ranging 4-12 Yrs. Please reach out to Teja Chandrashekar (teja@vdigitise.com), Phone: 7672030466. Hope this can help some of you to get back onto the feet. Kindly like, comment or share for better reach. Thanks much!! #experience #share #help #consultants
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

You’re being paranoid - you can’t live every day in fear that your agency is going to lose the account unless you have serious red flags coming up… focus on making good work as a team, not worrying.
When an agency loses a big client account, everyone at the agency is (could be) at risk. Even people who don’t work on that lost client.
Agencies “re-mix” staff and work to keep the best, release lower performers or one-trick ponies so to speak.
Best retention/security tool for you is 1) to excel 2) to play the politics game 3) show your range however/whenever you can. 4) volunteer for projects or pitches not attached to your main client.

Piggybacking on what Area 23 said above, if the account is lost it was most likely decided internally by the client before you got there and it’s the fault of those beyond your pay grade. You can only do the best you can to support those you answer to. The rest is out of your control.
If it makes you feel better, I was in the same situation last year at a new job. The account director completely dropped the ball (long story) for the 6 months leading up to my arrival. He was let go and the rest of the strat, creative, and account teams were divided up and moved to other accounts.
Living in fear is wasted energy. Take a deep breath and just keep doing your job. You got this 👍
For context: I was laid off at the beginning of the pandemic and it SUCKED. And so I want to avoid that happening to me again at all costs.
“More diversified” allocations could also make you more vulnerable to a layoff, if you’re spread so thinly that you’re not able to establish yourself as a key player on any one thing.
The truth is there is rarely a correlation between the account you work on and your likelihood of losing your job if that account goes away. If your performance is uneven, or your skills aren’t in demand across the agency’s roster of clients (including those you don’t work on today), those are much bigger warning signs.
I was on two accounts and still got laid-off during the pandemic. Do you have an emergency fund? Now that I’m employed again l’ve decided to increase mine due to having anxious feelings about job security.
This always freaks me out too, but I’ve done it several times now and it actually tends to be okay. A lot of agencies will try to move you to other accounts in a situation like this as well.
I’m currently in the same position and it wasn’t fun trying to find jobs last year, right in the middle when the pandemic was raging, simply because my agency told me they weren’t sure if we were going to be signed on again by the client.
Depending on your living situation, being in this position could be okay. Just make sure to read the writings on the wall and ask questions if you think things might go awry with your one account. I’m the sole provider for my household until 2022 so I feel like I’ve been on edge and am def looking for another job.
