If you have a good relationship with your supervisor, I'd sit down and explain how you're feeling. Ask if he/she has any feedback or suggestions as to how you might improve and gain more favor with the president.
Just make sure to dot your "I's" and cross your "T's." Document all your work and stay on top of any pressing matters. If you can have a paper trail defending your work, you shouldn't have to worry about getting fired or laid off
Also, not everyone is going to like you. That's just how the world works
I agree with A1 for the most part. Personally, I've found that it's hard to change someone's mind about you...so you just gotta make sure your work is as good as possible, and that your supervisor is happy
