Front office is where the money and bonus is at, however you may need to brush up on certain skills deemed required for those roles.
Depending on what kind of technology you’re involved with, you can leverage your current role into a higher paying tech/quant position. Comp will be good and hours/WLB will likely be better than IBD. What exactly are you doing now?

I think you are just so focused on the rate but you didn't realize that transitioning to a different category to get such salary rate requires experience on the same field. In your case you have to start somewhere in the beginning.
The difference is you can stumble into technology. No real way you would have stumbled into the front office unless you had connections. Try applying and interview for a f/o role and see where that gets you lol, an internal move is just as difficult as getting hired as an external hire unless you’ve done some meaningful networking
Are you trying to work as a coverage banker. If so, it’s hard to lateral into that role without transaction experience, actual client experience and a network.
