I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Starts at the top ... Sucks, I keep thinking things will get better but they don't, just worse.
i went through the same thing. stressed all weekend about what a shit show monday was going to be. Finally quit the toxic environment at Liberty Mutual. much happier now, no more stress and misery. I actually like my job now. it's a strange feeling after sooo many years of being miserable
It’s been years in the making, somewhere along the way it shifted. The top just got too greedy or out of touch. We aren’t even in that bad of a spot, but there is such a disconnect and it is across so many places too. Hoping that when the market returns to the employee, it will force changes.
The periods where employees have power are usually short-lived.
I don't feel any of these at Progressive
Yeah I've been with the company for 3 years and in multiple roles and departments and have enjoyed it
Hits way too close to home. I think Chubb is right. The only way this changes is if people at the top want it to, and it really doesn't seem like that's going to happen.
Bingo. Unless and until it affects them personally, they have no incentive to work to make things better. Who cares about working your employees into the ground when you're getting 7 figure bonuses??
I've worked places that all of these hit the mark & I finally thought LM wasn't like them. After watching another department get outsourced & rumors of more to come it's feeling like it was just a good disguise.
Wow, this infographic looks like it was created by someone who observed people working in insurance and the just wrote down every red flag and horrible thing they saw lol
It’s so true, literally everything on that list hits hard. The industry does feel broken sometimes. I think it starts with pushing for more transparency, holding management accountable, making room for honest conversations. Maybe we can’t change everything, but small shifts could start making a difference.
Loved my role for the last year but with recent changes I would warn everyone and anyone to run the other way
I know at USAA they recently started a new process where we get not only 4-5 new claims a day but also I’ve had up to 15 exposures assigned to me in a single day as well. Our workloads have quickly become unmanageable and member service is going down. On top of that we aren’t allowed any overtime so the work just keeps piling up. I’m thinking about jumping ship and applying to progressive or just taking a 6 week mental health leave.
My question is where would you leave and go to? I've been in insurance for quite some time and I actually feel the industry is more supportive than it used to be. It's what I know and if I am reading correctly, all the companies are the same then leaving means learning an entire new career.
not necessarily. I was a homeowners claims adjuster my entire career. I left and became a construction estimator. Still using the same skills I used in insurance, without the stress and abuse from the company
I scored 9 out of 13 🫠
Question: do I need good credit to be an Insurance Sales Agent or to pass a background check at Liberty Mutual, Horace Mann, Progressive?
