Negotiate after you get the job offer. Start with “after reviewing your benefits package. . .blah blah + considering xyz, I’d like to counter with 123” Good Luck OP 👊🏼
Never give a range. Give your minimum number.
You should definitely aim higher than your minimum
Thank you!
Don’t give a range or a minimum, ask what is budgeted for the role and they’ll ask if that aligns with what you’re targeting.
If you get to the offer/negotiation point, just say something like "after getting a more thorough understanding of the position and what it entails, I think a more reasonable number is X." Especially if you find there will be other aspects to the role not listed in the posting!
Right wait until job offer because it will
be evident they want you!
Also you need to hear the full role.
Which is always the case! Either it’s minimized with a lower salary until you have the first initial interview or meet the teams & hear the dread or tiredness in their voices. Either way I give a range and then it’s depends on how the interview goes. Some roles you ask the right questions and can gage easily. Your best offer/negotiation is always at the start of a new role.
