After a year like 2020, I certainly hope it continues with as many agencies as possible.
I worked at an IPG agency a couple of years ago that started holiday break on Dec 17 or something. Truly incredible. Get Dec 24 - Jan 4 at my current agency which is good too but man… didn’t realize how good I had it
Yep! Pendulum is swinging back for sure and I’m loving it. We are soft closed the week between the 24th and New Year.

Same. Skeleton staff Mon - Tue, then closed through 1/5.

I’ll be working next week

Lucky we. What do you have going on?
Every agency I’ve worked at did around the 23rd or 24th to Jan 2. Got a few extra days here. Closed yesterday. Back Jan 4.
I think it depends. If your agency isn't super involved in certain categories that are busy around the end/start of the year (retail, fitness, tech) or aren't doing anything big related to Super Bowl, then they tend to shut down for a stretch. If you're at a shop with those kinds of clients and level of work, you work. We are closed the week between the holidays but had the entire week of Thanksgiving off so I think that seems pretty fair and balanced. You can say a lot of things about Leo these days but sweatshop isn't one of them, at least not broadly.
Agency closed after Fri 12/17. Back on Tues 1/4.
I had to take vacay and am still getting scheduled for production meetinfs
I think this is our third year of unofficial shutdown between Christmas and New Years. We've been told it's "don't work unless it's an emergency" which is bullshit because if there was an urgent request none of the higher ups would need to deal with it.
Please post a list of agencies who are doing this… need to know where to send my resume, lol!
I wish I could say the same, literally working until the 23rd and returning the 3rd of Jan. 🥲 small agency blues
I'm off until next year
I think it’s a case of “anything to stop the bleeding.” The talent drain is very real.
I wish! We are only closed on the 24 and 31, with 2 pm close on the 23 and 30. All of my clients are closed the week between Christmas and New Years, not us.
Yikes. But glad everyone is ok.

I’m working this weekend all the way to Wednesday. Making me work for my vacation. Doesn’t help that we deliver a big project Tuesday EOD
We are closed between Dec 24 and Jan 3. And we don't have to use our PTO for it.
Our ceo refuses to close the office between Christmas and New Year, even though most clients do so. Most of us are taking pto. He worked on thanksgiving and Black Friday this year and isn’t taking any time off.
