Just saw on LinkedIn that one of NYC's worst recruiters got a huge promotion and a new job at a hot agency. How do people fail upwards? I guess their job really IS ignoring emails....
The VIA Agency Discussions
At what point do you know that it’s time to leave a new position? I have always excelled in my previous jobs and left a cushy position for this agency. But since day one, I have been struggling to adjust. I started not long after lockdown began in my city, and am starting to regret taking this new job.
I’m used of multitasking, constant stress, and looming deadlines at work. But I can’t seem to get the hang of things here.
I am in constant fear of getting fired. I can’t sleep, eat. Help?!
@people in relationships that ever since they’ve been in a relationship they only go on trips, have game nights, dinner parties, etc with other couples....your single friends like to do these things too
Can we all form a union already? Get paid overtime. Get good health benefits. Get sweet satin jackets. Get iron eagle Local 151 hard hat stickers for our Macs. And get paid for pitches - cause no agency else has the guts to stop giving away hundreds of thousand of dollars of free work. Imagine four plumbers coming to your business, doing the whole job for free. Each of them. One by one. And not paying them. Your business would be burnt to the ground and you’d end up in a ditch.
I’m curious what people are making as BDMs in Automotive. I’m personally in the automotive industry responsible for finding new business opportunities in the semiconductor realm.
Any strategies or resources you could recommend for getting rid of the dreaded annual performance review (or at least lessening the dread) and creating a more effective year round performance feedback system? Our review is currently tied to our end of year bonuses and merit increases, so not sure I could get rid of it entirely. This would be for hourly and management employees, all working on-site.
I’ve been working as a junior for 8 months in a small market & I want to make the move to LA but I haven’t been able to add to my book since portfolio school. Would it be worth taking an internship?
As a Sr. Strategist, what are the benefits of going platform side (insta, snap, fb)? Does it get too sales-y? Is it worth exploring?
Does anyone have a really good DEI moment idea that I can share! I’ve done all the usual ones - would like something different 👍🏽

Ready to ask for a promotion to SAE. Did a year as AA, 1.5 as AE, and completely ready for SAE.
How do I go about asking for a promotion and how much of an increase?
I have 6 yrs of HR exp, a PHR cert & an HRIP cert. I recently left my role as an HR Rep at a tech co b/c I was working 60+/week and the stress of the job was affecting my health. I recently received an offer at a new tech co that is $10k less than what I was previously making with comments from current EEs that this new co has a better WLB. Total comp is still a lot less than my prev company. Is less comp too much of a compromise for better WLB? What have you compromised for a better WLB?
How does the holiday weekend impact your quota? Still the same? It's still the same for me, which I feel is unfair.
How does promotion/raises/salary adjustments work at DH? Do employees prompt the conversation whenever or is it a topic included in the annual and performance review?
Ahh get a second job. Thanks Wired.
In need of a headhunter who can help me transition back from consulting to corporate. Help please ! I have HR experience as a generalist and business partner level but due to pandemic did consulting and some project work on a 1009 and my most recent role was a Compensation Manager as a w-2. I could use some one to help look over my resume. Really looking for mentorship.
Does anyone else struggle with balancing their sympathy with causes like Extinction Rebellion & the fact that our job is to drive economic growth that accelerates the Earth’s fundamental problems?
How is that energizer bunny still a thing?
Do you get severance or compensation from agencies if they let you go and you're at a more junior level? Specifically for agency holding companies like Dentsu and Omnicom

Got an offer at product based company 20 lakhs... is it good pay for a BI developer (skills: Power Bi,SQL,SSAS,Azure)
A new hire was brought onto my project. I'm responsible for training this person but they have very limited knowledge in SQL and no Tableau or Python experience. They don't have an understanding of relational databases and poor attention to detail. All of these skills are required to do the job. They keep making basic mistakes. I believe they lyed on their resume. At what point is teaching this individual the fundamentals too much? Has anyone been in this situation before?
Person accounts - I've heard they are a good idea in theory but completely mess up your org. Anyone have a different opinion?
I cleared the technical interview in L&T infotech and HR sent some documents to fill they are asking for details about the immediate supervisor and 2 Superiors who know about my work.
Will they call and check with them about my details???
I’ve only done day rates before, and am about to do my first hourly gig. How to I handle stuff like lunch? Do I count that time or not? Is my time arrival to going home, or do I need to log each hour?
How important are referrals in industries like data analytics/data science or product/project management or something like supply chain/operations? For reference, I am a university of Florida student studying Industrial and Systems Engineering and will be looking for an internship at an elite company this upcoming summer and then the following December I will be hunting for a long term job. I am feeling pretty good about my resume’s effectiveness at this time and any other tips are welcome also.
If an external recruiter approaches you about a job at a good agency, but the pay seems low, it is possible that’s because they’re taking part? Isn’t their fee supposed to be separate for full time?
Hey Folks, What kind of projects does alpha usually do? How is the work culture here in North America? Any other insights which might be helpful for somebody who is considering a move from Big4 to Alpha.

Can someone help? If you have a research report with a price target of $10 through a SOTM analysis of cash flows into 2030 with a 10% discount rate.
Let's say they have product A and Product B that each make a certain amount of cash flows, how can I get the price target break down of how much of the PT is from product A and how much is from product B)?
How difficult is the IKM test that ACN has as part of the recruitment process? Easy to crack or do most people get eliminated here?
Good morning, I need some career advice please! I have been in recruitment for 21 years. I started at the bottom as a trainee and worked my way up to manage a city temps division. I then went onto a boutique recruitment company for 7 years to recruit on the permanent side. I now own a small recruitment company of 2 and I am starting to get itchy feet. I would like to get back into the corporate world and thought about Talent Acquisition. Would I have to start from the very bottom? Thank you.
