Is WFH permanent at SDC?
Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

Because the tour companies have discounted rates, the hotels treat it as a soft reservation and reserve the right to cancel if a better paying customer reserves a room.
ah that’ll do it. Do more expensive tour companies get a guaranteed reservation?
It’s a mix of both! Tour companies often pre-negotiate blocks of rooms but don’t always finalize bookings until closer to the travel date to adjust for group size, availability, or better rates. Sometimes hotels overbook, and the tour operator has to scramble. It’s not always shady, but if a company constantly swaps hotels last minute, that’s a red flag for poor planning.
yea happened to me, I needed to book extra nights before and after the tour and the comms sounded sketchy af. I like to make solid plans so it was the only time I ever paid extra for cancellable bookings and sure enough had to cancel when they shuffled hotels on me after the tour started.
I guess makes sense financially for them if they can snag some last minute deals on a perishable product. Just seemed douchey when not sharing the savings w/ us lol.
