Not sure i would do it at 40 but a decade later and yes. Commiserate. Keep in mind you need healthcare which can be expensive. Perhaps you're burnt out in your current career and you can switch to something you'd enjoy with health insurance? Or with set hours and health insurance.
You feel like you should just retire? So this is a very realistic option for you at 42? If I could confidently retire so young, I would just find things that spark my interest and do that instead.
You can “retire” from the rat race and keep on doing things you enjoy doing outside of work. Retire doesn’t have to be laying on a couch all day.
