Bold of you to assume you’ll be able to get a Rolex at retail in under 6 months

thanks for the rec’s. i’ve been hesitant on the whole thing because of fear of fakes and stuff
Vacation
Chief
honestly would love to go on expensive vacations all the time except all of my longtime friends thought it would be so cool to dropout of college together and now they complain they don’t make anything to get to go on fun trips like I suggest🤣
Buy grocery gift cards, prepay utilities and insurance etc

When I got a card for my business and needed to spend a big chunk, I just talked to my friends and paid for their big purchases and they reimbursed.

With Amex you'll need to pay it off at the end of your cycle so if you want that Rolex, you're effectively paying cash. Not sure if new accounts get pay over time immediately.

i’d never carry a balance on a credit card anyway. always keep stockpiles of cash to make sure i can pay off anything I swipe
Vacation, gas, food, etc. My friend has one and it has a lot of perks- pays for itself as long as you pay it off.
You can also unlock access to exclusive tables and events when you add your amex platinum to your Resy profile. 15$ in Uber Cash each month as well
Might as well use the Resy offer when you sign up by the way... 10X points on first $25,000 of food/dining. https://resy.com/amex-offers
Can you pay your rent on the card?
Yeah paying 2-3% of fees in rent is worth it IMO, if you’d otherwise have trouble hitting the minimum spend. Especially considering the benefits of the card will greatly outweigh the cost of the fees. With that said, get the Rolex lol
But organic spend is the best. Don't buy things just to try and hit sign up bonus. If you don't mind loosing a few percents to fees, check out Plastiq to pay your rent with a credit card.
You just need to get spend $1k/mo for 6 months.
A Datejust should be very doable if you are not too specific about the reference. If you don’t care buying pre-owned, there are plenty of models. Just be careful where you buy from. Good luck!
