What do you use to carry your laptop to work?
I’ve been postponing actively looking for exits ops because I felt bad that I will be leaving my teams before busy season and thus burning all the bridges. But I’ve reached out to recruiters and they haven’t set up interviews for me yet. So am I just stuck on another busy season? If there are people willing to refer me to other big4 or non-big 4, DM me. That is fine as long as you get paid more
I was not able to negotiate my hourly rate, but I've been (verbally) promised that I'll get a good bonus towards the end of this year.
High performers get asked to do more because of their competence. They generally end up with more successful careers.
I think this is also generally true.
Its also your job to make sure you don't get taken advantage of for being a high performing. If you don't progress faster or get better bonus or raise, then you need to take action. Which may mean moving onto another job.
If you are in the US it can now be considered discrimination based on recent Supreme Court rulings.
The only reward for good work is more work. Make sure you're figuring out how to advance your position and pay accordingly, but it is a marathon and not a sprint so don't get too discouraged over temporary things... conversely don't let the temporary things become permanent... and the only way to have the perspective to know which is which is more experience, so yeah, good luck :) - you'll probably be fine if they are acknowledging they are giving you more work unless they are low character people.
Agreed, working hard is generally noticed. Just make sure you not being taken advantage weather on purpose or by accident.
