Hi I’m a current Graduate student, hoping to get my foot in the door for Deloitte Healthcare Consulting, Accenture CDP, or EY specifically within Chicago Offices. Is there anyone open to connecting and speaking on their experience being hired? I have previous experience working prior to my degree so hoping to get insight on how I can best score an interview. If you’re also open to providing a referral that would be a bonus!

As someone who has made that mistake, if you have a chance, absolutely and unequivocally go to a T10. The diff in ops is amazing

I went to McCombs. And while it opened tons of doors and enabled me to pivot from a dead-end career into strategy consulting, I would have had access to many more opportunities had I gone to a top school. Go to the best school you can get into.
There are some really good state school mba programs out there but sounds like yours isn’t considered one of those?
Maybe you’ve already done this, but I’d also look at the companies you think you want to work for, and try and see what their target schools are. Also maybe consider using median salary X years post mba as a part of your decision?
Have you considered t15-25? Might be able to get full rides if you’ve gotten into top 10. My school (which is a secret I won’t reveal) placed many in solid outcomes despite being t25ish. Might be worth considering since it’s a good balance between your two options

Thank you both for your insight! There’s a few from the mba program at my school with plenty of success but they are definitely outliers. It’s clear to me that Top 10 is the better option as it’s more of a reason for your resume to be put in the “take a closer look” pile.

I think you should stick to implementation for now, get really good at it, then move internally to a strategic tech role
