I have been a practicing DPT (doctor of physical therapy) for 9 years and am a certified orthopedic specialist. I have worked in multiple environments including hospital based outpatient sports ortho and acute care. I am about to finish up my MBA with a focus on healthcare administration, and am worried that my current place of work may not have a place for me to grow into. Today a student opened up about her depression after a lot of prodding. She’s capable but hasn’t done anything in weeks. She doesn’t want to try any medications. Already talked to mom. Help?

Tomorrow they are requiring masks again and I was almost in tears when I found out. We have been mask free (recommended) since June and I feel like we are being muzzled again. I am vaccinated, frustrated, and have been off of antidepressants since March. I don’t even want to go into work tomorrow. Anything is better than being virtual and I am trying to look at the bright side, but moving backward still burns. We have parent-teacher conferences coming up and I am hoping that it’s temporary.

My 5 year old niece overseas has developed flu-like symptoms and now after a few days there are fluid filled blisters appearing on her arms, legs, belly. We’re thinking it’s chickenpox (she’ll be seen by a doc tomorrow). Any parents here whose kids has chickenpox, how long did it last and did you have to give any meds to your kids? Trigger: rare illness post birth

Just sharing that I was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia 3 days after giving birth despite not having risk factors or preeclampsia in my pregnancy. Sharing as I had absolutely no idea about this illness.

Main things to do are check your BP everyday at least the first ten days after you give birth, and go to hospital if it's very high (over 160/110). If you get severe headache or stomach ache then also be vigilant.
