I work and live in an environment that is predominantly white, and while there's nothing wrong with it, I do wish I had more black friends. Friend to talk about braids and be loud with... Is there an app to make black friends? Sounds absurd to be making friends on an app but I guess this is what life has come down to. I’m in this business to cure my inferiority complex. Making lots of money, working with fortune 500 clients and walking the streets of NYC with a suit, tie and briefcase makes me feel important and worthy.

I often wish I could be like my law school friends who either moved to small towns or have public sector or non profit jobs, wear sweaters and jeans to work and make far less than me, but are happy with their lives, feel a sense of meaning with their work and don’t need external validation.

What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids. Any millennials here worried about their parents retirement? My parents are set financially but I’m worried about their lack of hobbies and social life.
