Unless it’s a meaningful step up, it may not be worth giving up your network.
I’m going to guess you’re a fresh MBA campus hire and frustrated with staffing or some other new consulting problem - you’ll die at S& doing diligences, just sit around and be patient, TSE is an amazing place to be once you appreciate the upsides. After the one year mark, at least some of your No’s will be yeses
Thanks. Then why are you at K?
It’s likely very minor differences. You should have a reason to move, not be worried about brand.
Reasons may include:
- your offer is 25%+ higher comp
- a practice area at S& you’re interested in isn’t available at EY-P
- you are having a negative experience at EY-P and need a new start
- you want to move geographically and this is the only way
Don’t fall for some brand, culture, or exit ops nonsense as it’s not gonna be a difference.
Culture is most definitely not given enough credit. I was at an MBB and the culture was shite

That’s like going from a 4.2/5 to 4.3/5
Not worth it imo
S& culture sucks
haaaaaa not wrong, some good pockets tho

Depends on lots of things. Are you happy at EY-P? Do you like the people you work with? Do you have strong mentors? If no, it is an easy yes. S& is a significantly stronger brand than EY-P, typically will pay better, and has less uncertainty than EY-P given the approaching split, where there will be tremendous brand and talent dilution. My 0.02 only
Saying S& > EYP in almost everything, and has a significantly stronger brand, is crazy talk. Both are strong T2 strategy brands with their own industry/practice strengths (EYP better in PE/Ed/HC, S& better in TMT/FS/PEVC).
Industry exits will likely be nearly identical (perhaps S& with a slight edge in corp strategy, and EYP with PE/M&A).
Granted, if OP doesn't like the people they work with and has no existing network of mentors/supporters, then they should absolutely leave. Given the crazy growth in EYP and merging of legacy EY practices, there's a higher likelihood that new joiners don't get to experience the culture that made Parthenon shine when I first joined, and I'm guessing that's what happened to OP.
If it's S& PEVC Healthcare, no.
Not a formal member of that practice but have done projects with them previously

I’d do it. Just know S& is high burn.
Which has a better culture?
Are you working more than 45 hours at EYP? I’m not so I def am not looking to move. Here I feel as we have a super comfy wlb
Hmm
