I worried about arriving late to the edit suite today and ended up staying into my evening commute. Meanwhile, headlines analytics show that communities are tuning out news—not because they do not care, but because they are overwhelmed or distrustful . I feel stuck between trying to be compelling and not watering journalism down.
Am I the only one feeling this tug?

You definitely are not alone in feeling that way. I see posts in here all the time echoing exactly what you are saying.

I appreciate that.. sometimes it helps just to know others feel the same way. Do you think sharing that openly makes managers take it more seriously, or do they just see it as venting?

One of the things about the news business is that it never stops, there will always be things happening. And it's really just a matter of being diligent and giving stories the handling they deserve. Which isn't easy, a lot of things can get watered down just because we're moving fast and can't go into great depth. But perhaps someone else with more time or space to spare could take on those stories in a deeper dive.

That is such a fair point. Speed often strips nuance.

I feel like we have all reached the satuation point on information. News died with 24/7 coverage. Only so much a human brain can take

Totally agree.. our brains are not built for endless feeds

Hello! What is the best way to structure a discovery call for SaaS sales? e.g. share a deck, only focus on their use case (current state, goals, pain, etc.), share a story, etc. Lastly, how do you go further than surface level, like if they mention they are having issues with xyz, which is usually a symptom of the problem and not the problem itself. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi All,

Was just told to "grow our ESG/CSR" practice at a regional consulting firm, due to my recent grad certification in sustainable biz strategy. Wondering where I should focus us as a services industry for big impact: we have a large product innovation, digital engineering area, and know in the past we've had a lot of lip service to clients and only recorded ESG for their compliance.

Hoping to make a big difference and include CSR/Sust audits and projects beyond for our clients! Any tips?

I had interviewed for an internship position at EY for technology consultant program for summer 2022 and got a call where they extended an offer. I wanted to know if I can defer the internship offer to fall 2022 or a later start date after summer.
I apologize as I cannot reply to a comment or DM on this platform to anyone, but thanks for your answers in advance.

First time poster here!

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?

I often hear of people that got PIPed at Amazon. Frome what I find online, it seems to be a horrible state to be in.So, out of curiosity, how common is it for people, at Amazon, to end up in such a situation? Is is just based on your performance or do any other factors contribute to it as well? If it just depends on the performance, how badly does one need to fu*k up (according to the manager) to end up getting PIPed

The argument that climate change is not man-made has been disproven by science over and over again, yet many people believe that the global crisis is either not real, not of our making, or both, in part because the news media deliberately chooses not to talk about it because it doesn't sell enough.

"Don't Look Up" is as real as it can be.
