I would considerate myself "intermediate" at Excel. What's a good way to get to "advanced" or "expert" levels? Any recommendations for classes or books or trainings or YouTube accounts?

Arrays and VBA for the heavy lifting.

Pivot charts and slicers for the razzle-dazzle.

Learn Power BI which will help understand more about data modeling. Using PowerPivot and understanding transformations will lift up how you even **THINK** about Excel and its capabilities!

This is so true. It doesn’t make DAX any more fun to use though 😅

Check if your company has access to Udemy or Coursera. There are tons of Excel options.

Just like anything else, practice practice practice. Finding new problems to solve that force you to think a different way or learn a new technique has worked for me. And if you want some 1:1 help as you work through stuff, feel free to dm me. Sometimes don’t explain something completely and it can helpful to have a real life conversation with someone.

How “considerate”

If you’re interested in learning how to use excel for decision science problems, Hubbard Decision Research has a few great classes.

Thanks for all the recommendations!!

I would say take up new tasks maybe at work, see where you can automate stuff that will help you brain storm alot. That’s how I learned over years and I can say I am at an expert proficiency.
Also, dm if you want personal tutoring, I do online 1 on 1 sessions teaching professionals and business owners excel.

I’m curious. What would you say is the best industry / sector for…1. WLB, 2. Great people / team, 3. Exit opp’s., and 4. Overall (mix of the above). Goes without saying the obvious “it depends on office, team, project, client, etc.” So this is an ask for general observations.
