^ an argument can be made then why not have us pay for all visa labor/legal fees related to everything under the sun? This $1000 extra is pure extortion, nothing else.
My main problem was that, even after I have paid $1000 extra money, they still had not applied my app for a month. If $1225 is making them USCIS to take decision in 15 Days, then $1000 are not enough for legal team to make things quicker than a taking whole month ?
I had paid $1300 in D last year ($1225 + 75 legal fee)
This is what I heard from others, so sounds accurate. However, this is not standard at other firms, my husband paid 1225$ for his premium I140 at his firm. When does your H1b expire (6 year period not your current i797)? Maybe there’s some scope for negotiation there
Pay that. Having. I140 early is good in many ways. 180 days and you can move jobs then.
Pay it
Yes, it’s correct.
Worth every penny. It will save u months of tension.
Got it , thanks everyone. I am going to pay it, just wanted to make sure the $1,000 legal fee was standard at Pwc. I wonder how much extra work it needs to file in premium.
It’s my 3rd year on h1b, but I need the I-140 quick enough to then apply for my wife’s H4-EAD
Yes the additional 1000 is standard.
EY asked me to pay $1225 when I got my I-140 filed under premium. The $1000 extra looks like extortion but I suppose there isn’t much you can do.
I have paid $2225 during early May, and legal team has taken more-than a month to review my app and to file. Finally, my i140 got approved on June 29th. While this whole extra money has relived mental tension for me, I still did not understand why have they taken more-than a month to file i140.. basically I see ROI on 1225 but not on that additional $1000 for “legal fee”..
Its totally unfair. Not like its through an external law firm, its through PwC law!
Yup
And to those saying it’s unfair- it’s actually not, the 1000$ is the labor charges of the paralegal and lawyer responsible for ur application, and covers ur RFE process as well
Had my I140 processed in premium late 2017 and did not incur any addtl fees. Is this new firm policy? Or specific to service lines?
It depends. If you want premium for personal reasons then you have to pay. If they need to process paper work asap for work related reasons or due to other pending applications, they will do it themselves and not ask you to pay.
D wont charge you but I can confidently say our law firm tries to get you denied more than approved. Either ways paying > NTA
