If a second round interview was canceled at the beginning of corona with no explanation would you suggest following up with the team to see if there are any other opportunities or to network? Cont.

“At the beginning of corona” - you mean since late March? I’d have followed up long ago, especially if no reason or next steps were given

like

Follow up for sure, at the very minimum worth asking how things are going since the first interview

like

I followed up with the recruiter and the company I interviewed with. Of course with thank you notes and then again after since it went silent for a while. I’m curious if it’s worth it to shoot my shot again since obviously there were so many uncertainties, layoffs and hiring freezes happening around the time. Just stay in touch and hope they keep me in mind In the future? And yes it was early April.

like

Did you follow up with the hiring manager or with the external recruiter? Externals not always have the rep and pull they say they have

No explanation was given why it was canceled and I’m not sure if I should wait to see if it picks back up again, cut my losses or shoot my shot.

Follow up

Follow up always

Director interview after super day?

Had a super day last week and I thought it went well, partner sent back a nice message to my thank you note. Trying not to read too into it, but is it normal to have an interview with another director after having already interviewed with a director (and a MD)?

I did mention I have interest in a specific area with a director last week and it looks like this next director I’m interviewing primarily works in that area.

Hey All,
I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.

4YOE @Amazon & trying to lateral to a similar role @FAANG. Have my undergrad GPA (3.8/4) on resume from top 15 school but colleague says to take it off (looks silly). If it’s a good school & high GPA, why ever take it off your resume? Even if 10 YOE...can’t hurt?

Other internship options include start-up or consulting.

As realtors, our worst and best friend are the contractors, being friends with the contractor that remodelled a home you are going to sell is a plus because you can know for sure what kind of improvements were made to the house and why; and what kind of things are pending to be improved, that way you can provide real information to the client. You know what they say: a happy client always comes back to you.
