Why is it assumed PMs are responsible for scheduling all meetings and taking notes? When did this happen? I was responsible for providing a recap of meetings in the sense of next steps, not in depth notes on the conversation. As for scheduling meetings, I was responsible for scheduling the milestone meetings (kick offs, internal reviews, post mortems, status meetings that I led), I did not schedule the team reviews (CD reviews with ADs/CWs), client meetings, etc. Comments?

Hey folks. Question for the majority of us still under the big 3 holding co’s...are raises a thing anymore? I’ve been at my (smaller) agency almost 5yrs and got one raise (a nice $12k bump) during that time—is that sufficient? Is one increase in that span normal? I also recognize being somewhere 5 years is rare these days. The honeymoon period at any agency seems to be 2.5—3yrs before bolting. Not complaining, just asking. Have y’all been getting raises/bumps in any kind of regular cycle? Thx.

I recently joined Swiss Re at 30lpa, pretty good manager and work culture. Got a hike of 10% in 3 months without me asking for it. But got an offer from another company which I was interviewing for before joining here and they are offering a base of 45lpa. Now I am unsure how I convey this to my manager coz I want to stay here but at the same time I am salivating over this new offer and wish I get similar numbers here. Is it worth raising a discussion? If yes what would be a subtle way to do so?

So I worked from home yesterday and my husband had a sneak peak on my meetings with clients (which I’m very new to being a senior). He mention that I should read some sales pitch books of some sorts so I can get a process down and not be drain from having genuine conversations with every client. I think it’s a great idea. People that have small children - how do you deal with your child’s stress and separation anxiety when you go to work? My 4-year old goes berserk almost every day at some point relating to me having to work. The worst part is that I’ve been working from home bc of Covid and I’m literally just walking upstairs after giving hugs and kisses and saying see you soon 800 times. My spouse is a stay at home parent, but that doesn’t seem to matter to my son. A piece of me dies everyday because of this.

Question about solo/self-employed 401ks: If I create a sole-member LLC for a side business and create a solo/self-employed 401k, am I only allowed to make contributions from the earnings earned via the LLC? Or am I allowed to contribute money earned from a different source (ie W-2 job).
