His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

Bain & Company Is it truly easier to get in a smaller MBB office?
Have heard a lot for different opinions on these. The logic is that it’s easier because there is a lot of supply in cities like NY, Chicago and SF, but the counter argument is that the offices with less supply are also way smaller and have a lot less demand.

It is critical and you really should do it. I sat a total of 10 times. It’s worth it.
Agree! I sat 12 times and I’m happy I did.
3-4 years. Having that weight off my shoulders and not feeling guilty for taking an actual vacation (instead of PTO to study) has made it so worth it.
6 months while interning and grad school .. was cheeks and had no life but it’s definitely doable & worth it in long run
Took me 4 month
A little over a year. If you want to stay in public accounting you’ll need it to advance your career. It isn’t easy but you’ll have support around you as a lot have been through the process as well.
Took me 4 years and had to do FAR like 3-5 times.. it was miserable but glad I m done with it.
It took me 6 months. Keep pushing!
nope. get a new job in an unrelated field. save yourself from this misery of working in PA.
7 months, within my first year at the firm. Depends on what you want to do with your career. Even outside of PA, having a CPA is worth more than having an MBA, or so I've been told by C-suite level at my former company (before I switched careers).
I’m sure it depends on the mba.
It took me 9 months, took each exam once. Definitely worth it. My firm gave me a 5k bonus for passing which was definitely incentive. Aside from that once you are done you are DONEEE!!! And until you're done, count on everyone (like your career coach) asking you when you'll be done!
If you are in tax go for your EA. I know many firms that promote to manager with just an EA and much easier to get.
Does KPMG allow seniors to be promoted to managers in tax with an EA only?
Took it twice back in 1983 and passed all four parts . Keep studying and you will succeed and it is worth it
10 months
I took it 8 times. Right up to the deadline where they would expire. Don’t give up. It’s so worth it!!!
Took ~6 months (started studying in July, took my last exam in February). So so worth it!!
I just got my license literally yesterday in the mail.
I started studying in 2007 and passed two but got busy with life. I finally started studying again in 2019 and was serious about it.
I focused on it all the time and was serious.
About a year. It is hard to do while working crazy hours so just need to come to terms with not having weekends for 8 weeks leading to the exam. The older you get the harder it will become, so that should be part of the motivation. And def worth it, even if you don’t stay in public.
17 months, sat 11 times
9 months in first year. Depends on what you want to do, but if you stick out in public 100% worth it. A lot of times in private it is given additional weight.
Considering it takes about a year, only cost several thousand between tests and materials, but has the possibility to open the door to other opportunities that will pay many times over, it is a good investment of your time and money.

About 3 months. I was very fortunate that RSM didn't care if I studied while working if I didn't have anything to do though. It gets much harder the older you get, but definitely still worth it.
I can't imagine doing it now with kids, wife, etc. I'd still try like hell though.
