I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?
Hi folks
I wanted a suggestion from you all guys, I have given interview of PS and got a call for offer after interview and I denied the offer as I have received an offer from some other company, I denied coz I was not doing offer shopping or piling offers, he tried to convince me and when I didn't get convinced he said to blacklist me from PS. What to do?

Very.
I was told if you got the interview you’re good enough to work there. The interview is essentially a vibe check.
That being said I’ve lost jobs to people with worse books than me because I was not as enthusiastic about a job as someone else.
So “playing it cool “ might not be the way to go.
It’s more important than your portfolio. They’re evaluating if they want to work with you. I’ve had creatives with absolutely stunning portfolios that were total gremlins to work with, and they didn’t last long. Yes it’s hard, but be prepared, polite, and you’ll be fine. Webcams interviews are weird for everyone.
You need to be a nice, kind person that seems to be easy to work with. By no means do you need to dripping with charisma or the coolest person on the planet. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
in my experience, the interview is more important than your portfolio
As copywriter 1 said, be enthusiastic. I didn’t get a job I really wanted recently because I didn’t hump their leg like a dog.
The interview is important. But all you need to be is human. Ask questions, be interested, have a point of view. Invest some energy in the other person. These are life skills, not just interview tips.
Just be cool, dont be uncool. - aka be the person they don’t mind to have a drink with
Horrible advice. We don’t even get drinks with people anymore.

Im not charismatic nor enthusiastic and every interview I had led to an offer. Just be yourself.
Don’t worry about charming them. Think of it like a first date, you’re getting to know them as much as they’re getting to know you. The interview is important for you to know if you want to work with them as well. And everything else will fall into place naturally.
They always “love” your portfolio.
Talent can’t be grown. Personalities can’t. If you can’t match the vibe they want, your portfolio isn’t useless
