Outside of big law, your numbers aren’t bad. The unfortunate truth is most people are in the 100-200 range for most of their career. I don’t know what Morgan & Morgan pays but I can’t imagine it’s good unless you’re higher up. PI is a networking game. Meet doctors & maybe you’ll generate enough business to open your own shop. Meet partners at respectable firms and maybe they are looking to add attorneys. There’s no magic
You know, i tried the doctor game. Doctors will ONLY give you work if you give them work. I dont have cases pouring in to feed them, to ultimately feed myself. I did that for 6 months and all it did was cost me money. Nobody gave me work unless i gave them work. Terrible consistency. Its not sustainable. So i came to the conclusion i just have to work for someone but nobody pays.
Are you in pi? I am thinking i have to make a move.
Do you get extra on cases you originate? That's a frequently overlooked way of giving yourself a raise. Of course you have to earn it, but if you're looking for a handout then go marry rich.
A3, you're an actual moron if that's all you took from that.
Tier III-IV law school, managing 5 attorneys and larger cases but firm still hit $45M in Gross Settlements, we have 2-3 Attorneys over $200k, caseloads 175-225, but significant amount of support staff and some of those cases are cases in Lit being managed by a different attorney, I’m over $225k, 45-50 hours a week
I meant to add, awesome. Lol.
Yeah it's clear from your responses here that you don't understand the business of law. Especially on the pl side. You *are* in sales despite your protests in your post. You want to make more money? Bring in clients. Find unique referral sources, schmooze chiros, and doctors, and the receptionists, and other law firms that may be able to refer you clients of you refer them clients, and everyone and anyone. I can tell you now that I don't know of any firm that will keep someone around who doesn't bring in their own file especially by year 10 and pay them good money. If you just expect everyone to feed you cases and you to get money on them, you're going to be stuck as a glorified associate making less money your whole career

There are PI firms where you can make $$ on non generated cases but you’re gonna have 75-100+ auto cases in suit. Some are ok with that. I’d only do that if I owned the firm, personally. Eg there are M&M lawyers making $500k+.
Same here
If you want to make more than that amount in PI, you have to generate referrals. Getting 1/3 to 50% on cases you bring in is a game changer. Plus, once you start consistently getting your own cases, it makes for an easier transition to go solo if that’s your goal. Good luck!

If you are a hustler, even without originating your own cases, go to M$M and make your $300k. If you’re good at what you do it’s very realistic
Meant to put M&M (Morgan & Morgan)
