The social element - connection. When you don’t go in every day, it becomes an occasion to come in that you look forward to, rather than a begrudging ‘1-3 days per week’ thing.

Being able to collaborate with senior leadership. FaceTime is important in my industry and I’m looking to get ahead.

We are 4 days a week in the office which works for me, but understand not everyone wants to be here that often.

FOMO

Nothing makes me “want” to. However once there I do enjoy seeing my team face to face for casual chit chat.
We were recently mandated 5 days in the office, up from 3, and everyone is exhausted and bitter.

Hi guys

This question may not be related. However I wanted to know from personal and family point of view how it is like to relocate from India and live abroad .
Let's say Family consists of husband , wife and a kid . I understand we will get good facilities, education, cleanliness , good air etc , however I wanted to check whether people gel up easily in the new environment? Don't they feel loneliness/ difficult to adjust? Do they look for similar asian nationalities to kill boredom?

My wife and I just had our second child, and we have also been dealing with her cervical cancer diagnosis. It has been a stressful year, to say the least. I want to do something nice for her, but money is tight right now because of the cancer treatment costs, and her being on unpaid leave because of the cancer treatments. What is something low cost I can do that will be a nice “couples thing” so we can de-stress, but also make her feel special?

Partners - Do you ever take vacations?

I have been at my current firm for about 1.5 years, and in that entire time the partner in my group hasn't been out of the office a single time. Is that normal? I can't tell if it's standard for big law partners to not take time off, if the dynamics for my group may be different (only 1 partner in the entire group), or it the partner I work with is just a masochist.

Am very curious to hear about people’s companies’ hybrid plans! (If they have one).

My company will be in the office 1-3 days per week starting in September. They have made it very clear that the future of work is hybrid

Email from leadership last week. We can go back as soon as 7/5 with permission. Had to let our boss know. Phase 1 will begin in July and go through end of Sept, provided schools are re opened. Future phases will be announced at a later date. So, I guess at this point in time, things are still up in the air.
