Does anyone here work for Silicon Valley Bank? They recently acquired Boston Private. I’m a candidate for a job at Boston Private. Wondering if SVB is planning layoffs in the near term at BP? Also, does anyone know the anticipated benefits to be rolled out from SVB as the parent company? Specifically interested in health insurance providers. Thanks in advance for any information! McKinsey & Company Hi everyone. Hope all is well.
Recently took the McKinsey & Company game (not sure if I have an interview yet but preparing nonetheless). It’s an entry level business analyst position and an entry level digital position and was wondering if anyone wanted to case prep with me. I’m willing to work on anyones time zone. (I’m located in Sydney, Australia).

I would still go for it , but definitely bring it up during the interview process. Layoffs don’t always hit every team equally, and the role you’re applying for might actually be a critical need. If a company publicly announces cuts, you have every right to ask how it impacts the position and the team.
Depends on how much I needed the job and how much they wanted to pay me for it. If I was desperate for something I wouldn’t care that much. If I had a ton of interviews lined up I probably would focus more on companies that haven’t been downsizing! You just never know though, anything can happen now.
I would still interview. A job offer gives you leverage and options even if you decide to pass later. Layoffs usually hit specific teams and not every new hire gets cut. I would ask questions about the stability of the role during the interview. Are you open to short-term risk if the role could boost your career?
I wouldn't interview if I knew big layoffs were coming personally. It feels too risky to jump into a company that might cut jobs right after hiring. I would rather focus my energy on somewhere more stable, even if it takes longer to find the right fit.
The closer to the wafer, the safer.
If you're interviewing during layoffs they are filling a spot they already have or maybe need so negotiate for more money. If you don't advocate before you sign you'll be enjoying the 2% yearly maybe if you stay of you're not laid off during the very next round.
