Don't expect one if you're not going to ask for it. The overlords dont want to give you more than they already do...regardless of how much shiny metal is now in their shelves. Advocate for yourself. You kicked ass and deserve it. But most importantly, congrats on getting those awards.
If you’re CCO, yes. Not sure about everyone else. Some people don’t even get 1 of all those actual trophies even though they busted their ass off working on the project.
In some ways, the bonus is that you got the opportunity to do that sort of work. At many other agencies, no matter how talented you are, you simply won’t get a decent brief. And even if you did, you might not have the support you need to produce your ideas well. I’m not saying you shouldn’t get a financial bonus—however, I encourage you to recognize the good in your situation. Keep doing great work and the money will come one way or another.
@SVP, I am provoked a bit by your snark and annoyed just enough to respond. Did you notice the phrase, “I’m not saying you shouldn’t get a financial bonus”? Otherwise, I am pointing out two facts that are important for the OP to consider: 1) Many very talented people never even get the chance to win an award. If your agency produces good work, there is significant career value in that. And, 2) The money generally comes in the form of a promotion or new job rather than a per-award bonus. Though I’ve won plenty, I’ve never gotten a bonus that was tied to a specific win—and I’ve never given one. In my experience, compensation has always been boosted based on cumulative success. With that, I forgive you for your “it’s a little rich” comment.
Most certainly. You're upping their game. You're building their profile and that helps attract better people. Remember, that's all an agency is. People. The better the people, the better the agency which will help bring better clients.
Thanks!
I won the first 3 for an agency and they gave me a huge raise at raise time but no bonus.
Thanks for your reply
Leads?!?! 😂😂😂
You should immediately ask for a raise.
Flip side: I won the only award for the entire agency network (not just my local office) AFTER they let me go. And you better believe I showed up to accept it🤓
Maybe if they treasure you and considers you a great asset.
Hell yes. If not, bounce unless you think more killer work is on the way.
