Just implement work-from-home. Don’t make the employees deal with this nonsense.

like

Masks do not work and you would not be able to protectband disinfect every durface in the office all day. It would be much wiser to have folks work from home.

like

Absolutely not - if you want to take additional precautions to mask feel free to do it yourself, but mandating it? Step way too far for me IMO

like

I think a mandate would be a lot and uncomfortable, just increase remote work.

That being said, I feel it’s been common knowledge for years now the average mask is to aid in reducing spreading versus preventing contraction. Some people in other countries seem to understand this just fine but not us. Freedom to cough on others is such a strange hill to die on

like

If the company provides the proper masks, maybe. If not, let people work from home since it’s such a health risk being in the office

like

No!

like

Well, it looks like I’m on the outside here cause I also like the mask mandate just for common areas though. Like the hallways or lunch rooms are shared workspaces I don’t see what the big deal is. We did it for years if we had to do it for two weeks just to get this respiratory season under control. I don’t see that people are freaking out so much.

“2 weeks to get it under control” is 100% brainwashing. No science behind it. In fact, it led to more restrictions and longer mandates.

I'm an RN of 7 years, experience as a coordinator, on committees and do all the things. But now I just don't want to go to work anymore. I have anxiety every morning over nothing, just having to go perform my job. I could do my job in my sleep so I'm just lost and confused. My body is clearly sending me messages to leave. But where do I go? I think I need to step out of patient care.

Curious what anyone thinks about cologne? Is it a turn on? I am not really into it.. but I just got a whiff of this dude at the gym and the cologne did something to me 🥰 It was really subtle. I tend to just like the way a man smells (not body odor but just natural scent) and don’t usually like it covered up, but wow this guy tonight 🥵 I might might buy some but i figured it would be gay to ask him “what are you wearing” because that prob isn’t something the bros at the gym do.

When, or if you set time aside to take care of yourself or do something for yourself, what do you do? I'm realizing I don't really have any "healthy" ways of relaxing outside of work, so drop whatever you got. It's starting to affect my personal life and I'm worried I won't be able to have healthy relationships unless I can take care of myself first.

Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? In case it is helpful, I come from a civil law country. Thanks!

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!

So engineers can now automate the writing of basic code, and potentially more complex tasks, by using GPT-3.

For those who are technical: If machines can write code, how are you going to upskill? And what are the best ways make yourself indispensable?

I am not embracing the notion that you shouldn't have to code to do data science. However, I think coding may soon be much less of a competitive advantage.

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.
