I’m 31(32 in 2 months) & I just officially hit 200K in all the accounts I have 😭 (72K in cash,brokerage/crypto accounts, HYSAs, & savings) & 138K in my 401K. I’m so grateful. I’m a first generation college student who is supporting both my mother and sister. Truly hope to continue this this year and beyond.

Well done! Keep at it and, at some point in the future, you'll exit out in fine shape.

OP, how much are you saving every year? How much are your expenses? What are you investing in?

Congrats, what’s exciting is that the longer you do it, the faster it goes. Compound interest will help more and more the longer you keep you contributions flowing.

That’s what I was thinking about! Like I’ll be able to get to 200K in my 401K a lot quicker than I was able to get to 100K.

Congrats!

Awesome

Nice - keep up the good work!

Amazing work!

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.

Hi all,

I joined
KPMG around 3 months ago but I am not getting work here. Although, I qualified some project's interview, yet due to some internal reason, they considered someone else, and I again came on bench.

I am unable to figure out what can be done now.

Should I start searching work outside.
(I hardly see any job openings these days)
(sap domain)

How's the resource management here?
(do they lagOff?)

Any inputs will be helpful.

Thanks!

I’m curious why more non-US citizens interested in FIRE don’t go live in a no/low tax jurisdiction even for a few years e.g. Dubai, some Caribbean islands. I get that some people will have family circumstances (e.g. elderly parents to look after) so it won’t be possible for them, but for a significant proportion it will be an option

Home reno financing question. Have a big project coming up in the $120-150k range. Funding sources are:
- 90k from a heloc around prime
- 10k from a credit card that offers promo checks at 2-3% for 12-18 months
- 375k in a brokerage
- 5-6k per month cash that I can put towards the project, loans, or brokerage

I don't want to stop funding the brokerage because my FIRE plan is less numbers based than "hoard like dragon until it's enough" but maybe I should... How would you optimize?

Hey all! I’m 30 years old. About to close on a house with a 5.75% fixed 30 yr mortgage. If you were me and your goal was to maximize your net worth by retirement, would you put a few thousand dollars extra into paying down the house faster or invest that extra money in the market? The 5.75% doesn’t feel that low but also not crazy high so I’m torn. Thoughts? 🙏
