I joined Tiger Analytics with CTC of 9lpa. When I check in greythr IT statement, it shows 7.14lpa.
In the CTC payslip, it shows 75k per month as my salary. But this month I got 61k.
I understand they deduct tax, but I feel it is too much. IDK where I'm losing the money. Can someone tell if this is normal. I'm a fresher so, IDK much about it.
Also, what can I do to pay less taxes? Any help on that?

If you want to be an academic researcher, go for a Ph.D. At a university with a clinical psych research program. If you just want to do therapy, go for a Psy.D. I have a Psy.D. Psy.d.s don’t get hired for research track positions in universities. That being said, some Psy.D.s do research.
A Ph.D. Or Psy.D. will take a minimum of five years of school and one or two years of supervised practice to be eligible for licensure in most US states.
An LCSW, LMFT or LMHC will require less schooling (2 to 3 years) and will be a less expensive and shorter in terms of time to licensure and independent practice. There is more than one route to becoming a therapist. DM me if you would like to talk more about the different degrees and licensure levels.
OOh that is tough. I def feel you on the salary thing. I always say that money doesn't buy happiness but it does buy choices and choices make me happy. I have a friend who is a psychiatric RN and she absolutely loves it. I do think it takes a special kind of person to do that work so if you feel like that is you, I say go for it.
I agree with MD1. It does take a special kind of person to do this type of work. And judging by what you wrote here, doing what you enjoy will definitely lead you to a more meaningful life to live. I would say go for it!
It is possible to make money as a therapist, but it’s a long and hard road to get there. There may be a more creative way to have a helping career that allows a better work life balance but unfortunately I haven’t figured it out yet beyond entrepreneurship.
