Now i want to move out by learning something new & changing my domain. But the thing is I am not able to study because I am stuck in a comfort zone and learning new thing gives me bad anxiety. It feels like I will never learn & be forever stuck here. Pls help on how to come out of comfort zone, learn things and apply for the job. Tata Consultancy Infosys Wipro
Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.
I recently joined TCS but I was moved into very different project which was told during hiring. Also they told me for joining incentive but later after 65 days of joining they didn't give saying your business aproval got rejected. I really want to be with TCS but due to project dissatisfaction, I am looking for different job. I am not sure if I can leave the organisation soo soon(4 months) and it should not effect my carrier.

One of my best friends has this saying. "Let someone else tell you no."
You might feel unworthy, but you got the job and are still there, so maybe your job sees something in you that you don't. I think you owe it to yourself to ride this out and prove yourself wrong.
Even if you’re right, you have a long career ahead of you. Why bow out prematurely when no one is asking you to leave?
A lot of people will try to talk you out of it and say that’s an imposter syndrome, etc. - and most likely they’re right, you got your job for a reason! 👏
But a different prospective here. Originally, I pivoted to advertising strategy from a creative field. And overall I enjoy it, but recently I went into a sub-discipline of strategy that I don’t like at all. I knew it’s not what I wanted but I followed money and “prestige.”
Same as you, my brain doesn’t work in the way it needs to work for this role. We’re all adults and can push through and be good enough or even excellent at it. That doesn’t change the fact that I don’t enjoy it and I know it’s not the right fit, and I’m looking for my way out.
I also had a similar experience early in my career, where I chose money/prestige and was in a technical role, which I hated. That didn’t stop me from being exceptionally good at it, but I listened to my gut and despite all the great opportunities, I left that field and never regretted it.
You can be amazing at what you do, and that still won’t be a right fit or you could be suffering every day pushing to do what doesn’t come naturally to you. Listen to your gut, but also consider responsibilities, money situation, etc.
I think everyone has felt this way in some point in their advertising career. I’ve felt like a fraud many times but you get better because of that feeling. Just know other people in your department have felt the same way at some point. Whether it’s this project or another. You got this, even if you feel like you don’t.
I say if you're feeling like a fraud, strategy would be perfect for you. Embrace your inner fraud.
Fake it till you make it has been a guiding principle for me. Similar to ACD 1 says. You were hired for a reason, just try to make the most of it. I feel this way a lot at work and I use it as fuel to push myself to get to the level of others around me.
