Why would you go to law school to return to consulting?
Go to a top law school and work for a firm. More money and prestige. You don't want to come back to consulting with a top JD. Doesn't make sense
Lol....
Ditto E1 - that makes no sense

EY I had a guy on my team for years that did exactly that. He averaged $350k/yr with us for about 8 years.
Post MBA associate / consultant... $135-$150k-ish depending on the firm... big law pays $180k ish across the board if you can break in
I am in TAS and often work with the lawyers in transaction tax. Some of them are only staff even when they come back from law school (but I assume paid on a very different scale than other staff) so you might want to ask around for these details if you want a JD to do M&A consulting. I'd suggest just getting a decent MBA like normal though
Graduated in May from a mid tier law school (attended for specific program), 3 years experience prior to law school, hired as a senior in a mid sized city for 100k +bonus. JDs definitely can have a good perspective in consulting, particularly in risk
I know many JDs that are in consulting. Many focus on M&A
Know someone who left EY after 3 years. Came back still took another 4 years to become manager.
