I’m a tech consulting manager, and recently interviewed for a Sr DS role at Facebook. I feel I bombed the interview and recruiter said they’re looking for a different level. Thoughts on whether it’s a good move to go from people management to IC role (probably down level to DS) as long as FB matches my pay expectations?

The home leaked every time it rained, mold was found in the home & the LL failed to make repairs that resulted in me falling down a flight of stairs. Been with Big Four advisory (GRC) for 10 years. Really tired of meaningless “consulting” and commoditized implementations. Recently been through a rough job search and finally landed an offer with a mid size bank in their risk practice. People say that the culture there is quite political and bitter but I’ll learn a heck lot and get a new opening on my resume. Salary is the same.
