I’d recommend looking for Senior AE roles at other agencies as well. Some agencies use as an intermediate step between AE and Account Sup. and at 3ish YOE, you’re probably right in the range for it.
I think that’s fair to say! I’d just soften it. Say something like, I am ready for more responsibility but due to my team structure I will not be able to take on a new role until someone leaves. People get it
That said, 3 YOE feels slightly low for an AS role, so I’d be ready to back up why you are performing at that level
I understand what you mean, 80% of the projects I am on do not have an AS in place. So I do the work of AE+AS on those projects. So while I understand it may feel a bit low, I do have experience and understanding of AS roles and responsibilities. And often I get very bored of doing the monotonous AE tasks. They've become too easy and I don't feel challenged anymore.
Explain that you are looking for growth and opportunity to expand your knowledge of the industry and gain more experience. Perfectly normal for you to look elsewhere for a promotion
Thanks for this!
Following! Feel like I am in a similar position as you.
