I would take it. 10 years down the line you won't know the title difference but it is a great brand name and that does mean something :)

Take it. More money and it's McKinsey. Plus, exit opps much better with the McKinsey brand name. It's not even comparable.
I Don't know guys... McKinsey is pretty brutal in terms of up or out. Would suck to be a manager, go to consultant, then get kicked out... And now you are a jobless consultant not a jobless manager...

OP - I was a Manager at a Big 4 and made the move to McK, took the title "demotion". Best decision I've made, McK has been v good to fast track (particularly for experienced hires in our situation) and I made EM early. Would not have had it any other way - being an Associate and actually knowing what you're doing gives you the headspace to spend time navigating the firm, building your network and learning how projects are run (because it is different!). Would beg to differ with D2, I have not felt like it is an up or out culture at all (unless you have serious performance issues, which I have faith that you don't!), we have many different options and tracks for if you want to take a longer pathway. Other consideration is the practice / area you're joining though - it can make a difference.

I was in a similar situation. Depends on what year of Manager you are. May make a little more sense at M1 only if you want to move to Strategy real bad. Have you explored our Strategy competency or talked to someone at Parthenon? FYI, I declined and have not looked back since. Hope this helps.
As for mixed reviews about culture, the NY office does not have a great reputation w/n the firm so I'd think hard about heading there. Most of the other offices are good people though.

You could easily go back to EY if that's and what you felt like doing.
What helps me in evaluating opportunities is looking at LinkedIn profiles of others in the same position. Looking at their backgrounds and experiences. And for those who have left, looking at where they're at

Our risk practice certainly seems to be doing well.
I'm leaning towards ey2. If you want to do consulting for a longer period of time, switch. If you're at the higher M level and is thinking about leaving consulting, that's another story.
