I’m at the high end pay as an ACD. How much do I ask for a bump to CD? The usual salary websites show CD salaries starting lower than mine, and I don’t want all the extra work for a small pay bump. Do I ask for a $15k bump? Bigger?

Big law specialist with an offer to be the CFO and GC of a 250M AUM hedge fund. All in comp would probably be ~$300k, so about $100k less than where I would be in big law (including bonus). The rate for 750 sqft carpet 2bhk they are giving for 74lacs and possession is 2023 May. Another 2025 possession 850 sqft carpet 2bhk for 79lacs.Hardly any difference in rate per sqft. I’m well liked around the office, I put in the hours and work hard, I haven’t had any dumpster fire projects, but I am a mediocre performer compared to my peers (not as strong project management, communication, not as confident). I just got told they’re firing me. Should I expect severance? Have other people been fired for similar? What did you do with your career?

Has anyone received equity as contingency comp? I have a potential client with a founders dispute. He doesn’t have cash, and the other founder ripped him off and is now running the company. He wants to sue for equity and wants to pay me with whatever equity he wins. I’ve never done a deal like that. Is that even enforceable? CA law. The startup is actually quite promising.
