Easing into interviews always helps instead of jumping right in. Talking about the history of your org or program area, mentioning your history with the company. I am usually super nervous, opening up gives me time to mentally settle in before I have the spotlight turned on me.
Congrats on the promotion!
You might already do this, but explaining "why" goes such a long way when asking someone to do any task. Especially if the task is rushed, or if it's a process change that will add to the PM's (likely overflowing) plate on a regular basis. Understanding the "why" helps me buy-in to the ask and prioritize properly amongst a sea of competing tasks. It also presents as a two-way convo vs. just "do this". I've had managers that take both approaches, and my job satisfaction has been WAY higher with those that take the time to explain why vs. just commanding orders. Hope this helps! Good luck :)

Congrats on your promotion!! Ppl tend to hire ppl
who are like them. I would say challenge yourself and hire someone opposite as long as they have the necessary junior pm experience as far as they understand project management. Focus more on their soft skills. Nice to hear In this climate. 👏🏽🎉
