Days vary and successful recruiters usually put in a decent amount of work 10-7 is not uncommon if you’re busy, but summer months are usually slower and you can enjoy the summer. Some of the larger recruiting firms do pay a base salary and some smaller ones are strictly commission based. I have to add that the notion that this is as easy way to make good money isn’t really true. It will be a lot of cold calling or emailing in the beginning and then it will get a little easier. There is also a ramp up in understanding the small important differences between different firms. Feel free to send me a message if you want and I can try and shed more light on everything

Hi! I’m so glad I made the change! I work so much less, so much less at stake and easily make as much as an Am Law 5th year associate working about 20 hours a week. There’s never an emergency, I can make my own hours. It’s fun, it’s basically helping attorneys find a better opportunity and chatting all day.
We are also all commission, and industry standard is 50%. So if I make $600K in placements, that’s about 8-10 placements a year, I take home $300K.
I have been doing this for nearly a decade and have never worked 20 hours per week - well once, when I had a baby and still made a placement the week after she was born. But good job to the recruiter who is able to pull it off and still make $300k :)
