I’m considering additional certifications to enhance my credentials. Which ones have you found most beneficial for your career in finance?

1. PwC: 22 fixed +3 lakh variable Role: Senior Consultant in tech consulting
2. Adobe: Fixed 23 + 2.5 lakh variable + 3 lakh joining bonus: Role: Value Consultant
3. Natwest group: fixed 25.5 Fixed Role: BA
4. SHELL: 21 fixed + 3 lakh variable Role: Product Analyst

Please help me choose the company. The parameters I'm looking for are good work life balance and growth opportunities.
Current CTC 18 fixed. YOE is 4 years. MBA from Tier 1 college.

Moving from government to BigLaw as a 6th year. Since I'm coming in as a mid-level, I feel like this transition is different than a junior whom partners expect to know little. Any advice?

Apologies if this has been asked before but what do the different roles at SF translate into in consulting? Is a VP comparable to a SM or D? What about an SVP, or Program Architect or Director? So confusing!

How common are credit checks for roles in accounting or finance positions? Will high utilization on credit card balances and low credit score be a deal breaker? I’ve been irresponsible and made mistakes, but wondering if I can switch jobs now or if I’m best off waiting 1-2 years and cleaning up my credit first.

I am currently working as a delivery manager for a data science project where I manage both ML and DE teams. I am not sure what career path should I follow.

Should I move into either a core technical data science/data engineering role or move into a techno-managerial role like a program or project manager? What role would be best in terms of money, growth, and job security?

Let's say I can't get a product or marketing job in tech, but I could get in via sales or customer success. Does working in those roles pigeonhole you, or is it easy to switch later? If you take a job as a customer success mgr for ads, or as a partnership mgr for learning solutions for industry X, are you going to get stuck in those products (ads, learning solutions), roles (CS, sales/partnerships), or target industry (X)?

Have any folks here made a pivot to PE/VC from consulting? Why'd you do it, and what steps did you take?

I have been searching for job from quite a long time and all I have seeing HR/Panels asking for
1. Number of implementation projects done.
2. Work experience on S4 Hana.

And if I don't have atleast any one of these, I will not be considered.

Is it really that important ?

Being joined as a fresher - Is it really something that I can decide whether to be in support or implementation project ?

Is upgrading of ECC to S4 Hana in my hands ? And the difference is really that vast ?

Hi all! I’m inclined on taking up the CIPM training and certification exam. I’m already a certified Data Protection Officer in the Philippines. I intend on skipping CIPP as it applies to the US and EU.

How difficult was the exam? Can you share your experience studying for the CIPM exam? Is it advisable to skip CIPP?

Recently obtained my aPHR and I’m considering next steps in advancing my career. I am eligible to sit for the SHRM-CP presently and will not be able to sit for a PHR until 09/2023. Any pros/cons with either certification? Should I wait to sit for PHR or go for SHRM-CP now?

Is our industry as competitive as some say? I see a lot of people saying this and I work with a bunch of hacks (myself included). It felt like a little while ago agencies were begging to hire new talent, and most couldn’t find new people. Is it really that hard to get a job at an agency? Maybe I’m just out of touch being in this career for so long.

Ok so I was in a job search support group today and the issue came up about one's aims when job hunting. They tell me it's not about me it's about what the employer wants.

Thing is for me it *IS* about me. The employer is just a vehicle for me to have the lifestyle I want. Why can't we be real about why we want a job? I want to be stimulated by what I do and be paid well. If a job isn't increasing my market value and doesn't pay well I'm gonna wanna to leave. What can I say, I'm a bad actress.

Has anyone ever dealt with Geico UM case where they insist that a release needs to be signed? Geico extended our client’s policy limits but wants him to sign a release. We offered to sign an acknowledgment of receipt of funds but Geico said without a release signed, they will not issue payment.

Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?
