How much an EXL pay for 3.5 YOE data engineer?
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

It depends on how many you support and YOE. I'm not familiar with Canadian rates so hard to say for sure. I can say I'm in Chicago and should support 10. 10 YOE and I make 100k base, discretionary bonus, 6 weeks PTO.

With the experience alone I'd say so.
An Executive Assistant supporting one c-suite executive I worked with was compensated 100k CAD annually, given a company Mercedes Benz, 6 weeks vacation, annual 10 percent bonus and of course wellness and health benefits. It wasn’t that large of an organization but she had been supporting this CEO for 10 years. She also received stock options.
Recently I was asked for referrals for a few EA positions from my network, all positions had about 80-100k CAD base salary same bonus structure as previously stated and great health and benefits packages- some required financial experience or HR but all required min of 5 years experience.
That's a pretty decent package!
Pretty typical salary. Canada pays a lot less than the US. Normally between 60-80k CAD but can be higher if supporting C level or you’re Senior EA/have many YOE.
That seems to be the trend. CAD 60-80k
