Negotiating with EY for M/SM Tech Consulting. I have 15 years experience, skills are in demand and my interviews went extremely well. 1. What are the salary ranges for M and SM in NYC. 2. I am told it is only going to be a M now, for my own benefit-no EY network means failure at selling. Whats the highest salary I can negotiate at M. Any other tips will be handy. I have "sold" (support on sales & new roles through relationships) plus I have solid delivery experience. I really want SM 😀😀😀 EY

I know this doesn’t directly answer your questions, but thought I would share my thoughts on the broader topic of advanced degrees and certifications.
In my opinion, it depends on where you are in your career and what your long term goals are. If it is early, see if you can get the company to pay for it. It usually comes with strings attached, though.
I chose to forgo the MBA and work on getting experience by taking every opportunity to learn on the job. For me it has paid off. I could teach MBA students. While I’m sure there are some things I could learn, I don’t think it’s worth my time and money at this point. The only reason I can see to do it at this point is to network. For that, I would choose an executive MBA program.
As for certifications, most are just time sucks and money grabs. I know plenty of people who have certifications and can’t manage their way out of a paper bag. Usually, those who are effective at what they do are too busy to take on academic exercises for the sake of getting some extra initials on your resume.
Good luck in your pursuits!
