Hi fishies. I have a ton of interviews coming up soon including a case interview at EY within their Innovation and Experience Design practice for Digital Strategy Manager. I am super comfortable with CX, design thinking, etc which are the types of projects I would be working on BUT I am absolutely terrible in case interviews. I was hoping it would be based on CX or design but my understanding is there is some revenue component idk. Anyone have any insight? I would greatly greatly appreciate it!

Your chances are pretty much 0% without an MBA.
Ughhh ok this is noted. Thanks for your response!
Definitely get an MBA.
I agree EY 2.
A lot of undergrads who get advisory at Deloitte, EY and KPMG.. sometimes don’t understand the difference of consulting/advisory. They hear/read advisory in their offer and think it’s consulting.
For PwC our advisory practice is our consulting practice. Deloitte has Advisory And Consulting. EY’s risk advisory = PwCs Risk Assurance.
Still a job. But maybe not what they wanted to do.

I know one SM that went from EY Risk advisory to Strategy at Deloitte Consulting. SM-> SM. Nothings impossible

Try switching to PI Finance. They love that background
What is your area of Risk? If audit, it may not be a bad consideration to get an MBA and go through recruiting
I see. Thank you for your input!

Are you me?
Lol are you on the same boat?
It’s hard but I’ve seen people from tiny boutique firms get first round interviews from networking (and then from there you’re on your own and have to do well on the interviews)
I see, got it. How many rounds of interviews are there and are the case studies difficult?
What is "real" consulting ?

Some people consider “risk” and “tech” consulting not “real consulting”. They only consider “management”, “M&A”, and “strategy” as consulting.
Same across all three usually. 2 in first round and 2-4 in final round with at least two cases in the final round and a few conversational interviews. May differ for exp hires but you will absolutely need to do cases well as your experience will not be viewed as an equivalent one at all. Just being honest
I’ve never seen an MSA at BCG. Consultants either came up internally as Analysts first, have MBAs, PhD/MD/JDs, or are lateral hires with significant levels of experience in industry. Not to say you wouldn’t have a chance, but I suspect your credentials mean you would most likely be considered as an analyst, and those are hired almost exclusively straight out of school.

Yeah sorry, without a top degree. Chances are nearly 0%. Get an mba or another advanced degree
