I'm in HR and I often feel so overwhelmed with learning quick and performing..I'm 8 months into a role my coworkers are nice but I feel like I'm Soo behind and I really want to quit. I get overwhelmed like this throughout all my jobs which leads me to quitting or like my last job laid off...could this be ADHD? I feel like I can't learn any further...and I'm going against a wall.

It very well could be ADHD. I was diagnosed at age 40. I had always had a very active job, where I was moving at a fast pace, in a very busy environment. When I went to a desk job, I felt much like you did. It’s worth getting it checked out. Quick easy quiz is all I had to do, and they knew immediately. It all made sense why I struggled so much in grade and high school decades before.

Did you find medication helped and has it helped with your job significantly?

HR is the heart of a company so it has to work fast to circulate. I had no idea the pace would be so chaotic. Nobody can slow down to pause. Breathe. assess. There is no breath of air. It’s been about a year in my role and I’m battling burnout, while striving for balance. My coworkers are great, but I also feel behind. I feel I’m adjusting slowly as I seek a path of balance. I love what I do most of the time. Working on confidence and executive presence. Try to find ways to crane efficiencies.

Just restarted stimulants and already I'm dealing with twitches again. Does anyone else get these? No type of pain or anything just every once and a while my body will twitch strongly. Afterward I feel normal, but it's a bit annoying, and I can't control it at all which is a little disconcerting. Don't remember this from when I took stimulants as a kid, but it's been a while.

I keep starting huge projects or hobbies and being intensely into it for about 10 days/2 weeks, after which I forget about it and the project just lays around my house for months until I get interested in it again or I toss it out/donate it. It was fine when I was living alone but my partner is seriously frustrated with how messy the house gets and how much I spend on supplies for these things. How can I be less impulsive OR how can I stay motivated past the 10 day mark?? TIA

It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision. I know I’m not alone that people don’t want to return to the office. My ADHD and the open office just makes working from the office a nightmare and I’m feeling really nervous and kind of resentful.
