I’m in the process of applying to other jobs, and I’m noticing a lot of them added sexual orientation to their diversity questions. How do y’all feel about that? I feel it’s a catch 22 for me. On one hand, I’m scared of being discriminated against as I deal with enough of that as a BIPOC individual. On the other hand, it feels icky to be a diversity pick so companies can include me in their data to avoid being sued.

Isn't it possible to have a conversation with hiring manager in Amazon before joining. I tried to have a catch up with him regarding my roles and responsibilities, but my manager denied. I know I will get hated by saying this. Do you think gay pride events are portraying a bad image about our community to public? (Drugs, sexual, inappropriate clothes, and sometimes like strip clubs- some parts). I know it is right to present us but I just feel it is not the right way to show who we are. I’m in SF but nervous to officially come out to my friends even though I’m sure they all know/assume anyway. :(

I grew up in a nuclear family away from extended relatives who were never really close. Parents were either emotionally unavailable or distant. All I've wanted for myself was a big loving family to call my own.. my parents are unaccepting of my sexuality & my partners family is also quite fucked up so she's isn't super close to them either. Honestly this sucks & it feels like I'll never have a huge supportive family I've wanted & craved for.

Thoughts on the term “latinx?” I see A LOT of straight “Latinos” reacting poorly to it.
