Good morning. I am currently a senior associate in BugLaw, and I have applied to several trial attorney jobs in Chicago offices of federal agencies since the start of the pandemic. According to usajobs.gov, my applications to the DOJ and CFTC were “referred,” and my application to the SEC was received and my GS scale verified. But I haven’t received any updates on these applications in over a month. Does anyone here have any insights on these or on federal hiring generally? Thanks!

Could be dead end job at JPM, depending on what you are doing in back office. Are you looking for a long term job to settle into?
I think so. I'm losing interest in consulting and the go go go mentality. I make enough to be happy where I'm at now.
Would you enjoy your work at JPM?
Yes, definitely. The only real concern is on career progression.
You could always do it, go back to consulting if you get bored and sell your experience as an expert in back office processes for financial services.
What part of the bank? Downside is raises will be minuscule if you’re not revenue generating/front office.
Culture is also very hit or miss.
